About Northern Lights of Finland

Spectators have been entranced by the northern lights, or aurora borealis, for generations. This stunning light show in Finland’s Lapland is undoubtedly a violent event, despite its beauty.

Despite the fact that solar particles accelerated to 45 million miles per hour (72 million kilometers per hour) can impact Earth’s upper atmosphere, our planet’s magnetic field protects us from their deadly fury.

When Earth’s magnetic field guides the particles toward the poles, the process takes on the cinematic qualities of a meteor shower, stunning and fascinating scientists and skywatchers alike (there are also southern lights, which you can read about below).

Highlights

When you reserve an 8-night and 9-day Finland, Sweden, and Norway Northern Lights package with us, your arrival at Helsinki Airport marks the start of the first day. Our driver will be waiting for you outside after you have finished with customs and made any necessary announcements at the airport. You'll be picked up and driven to the hotel to complete the check-in process.
Day 2 : Have breakfast After leaving the hotel, you will have a tour of Helsinki and its surrounding region, Porvoo
Prepare for your Helsinki sightseeing tour by eating breakfast. Once you check out of the hotel, your baggage will stay in the car. Your 8-nights, 9-days vacation to Finland, which includes sightseeing, begins today.
Before visiting Helsinki, Finland's vibrant capital, take a guided beach trip to the charming village of Porvoo. Explore the iconic structures in Porvoo and Helsinki, such as the Olympic Stadium, Sibelius Park, and Uspensky Cathedral.

You'll find a guide awaiting you at Helsinki Harbor. The next stage is to board a luxury vehicle and go to Porvoo, the second-oldest city in Finland. Watch for the lovely red homes as your tour guide takes you down the shore. Visit the Town Square, a few neighborhood shops, and the Old Church.

It's time to return to Helsinki now that the excursion to Porvoo has come to an end. Take a bus tour along Grand Mannerheim Boulevard and Esplanadi Street to see the sights. From here, one can view the Parliament building, the National Museum, the Presidential Palace, and Finlandia Concert Hall.
Visit the park that bears Jean Sibelius' name, a legendary musician from Finland. Take a look at the sculpture known as the Sibelius Monument, which was created from a variety of steel pipes.

Following the park is the Olympic Stadium, which served as the venue for the 1952 Summer Olympics. We have now arrived to the Rock Church, a stunning building that was carved right into the rock face and has a copper dome on top. View the outside of Uspensky Cathedral, the biggest Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe.

Visit the Havis Amanda Fountain and the renowned clock tower in Helsinki's Central Station. After your expedition, you'll have time to stroll through the waterfront market area and eat some regional cuisine.

Once you've completed your sightseeing in Porvoo and Helsinki, you'll be taken back to your accommodation.
Day 3 : Checkout from Hotel + Drop to Helsinki Airport + Flight to Rovaniemi + Transfer from Rovaniemi airport to Hotel + rest for the day
In the morning, have breakfast and get ready for the pickup airport for your flight to Rovaniemi. Once you reach Rovaniemi airport, you will be picked up again for a drop to the Rovaniemi hotel.

Rovaniemi became a city in 1960, and in 2006, it joined with other nearby towns to form one big city. As a consequence, its landmass expanded to 8,017 km2 (3,095 sq mi), making it the biggest metropolis in Europe. There are 63,500 people living there, making it one of the 10 most populated cities anywhere in the world. Approximately 52,000 people are city dwellers. The majority of the population (96%) speaks Finnish. There are still some Sámi in the area, but they are not a large minority because most of the original Sámi have moved away because they have become Finns. The first Sámi community is located 175 kilometers to the north.
Day 4 : Santa Clause Village visit, Rovaniemi sightseeing trip, and nighttime northern lights hunt by bus in group
Following a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, today of your 7-day, 6-night Finland vacation package will find you exploring Rovaniemi, the city of Lapland.

Then, visit the enchanted Santa Claus Village and stop by Santa's workshop for some advice. You can write letters with a Santa Claus stamp, celebrate entering the Arctic Circle, and kill time in the gift stores, winter activities, cafés, and more located in Santa's Main Post Office.

Later, spend some free time around Gamla Stan, the historic district.
The Vasa is a priceless work of art and the best-preserved ship from the seventeenth century in existence. The ship is more than 98 percent original, and hundreds of carved sculptures adorn it.

The 69-meter-long battleship Vasa perished in Stockholm Harbor in 1628 during her first voyage before being rescued 333 years later, in 1961. The ship has been gently, thoughtfully, and meticulously repaired for almost 50 years, bringing it close to its former magnificence. The three masts on the roof of the specially constructed museum display the original mast height of the ship.

Around the ship, there are many displays covering subjects like shipboard life and its historical setting. There are many language versions of the Vasa movie. Visitors can use an audio tour on their own mobile devices that is available in several languages. The museum offers free WiFi.
