Finland Northern Lights

For centuries, people have been mesmerized by the aurora borealis, sometimes known as the northern lights. This light show in Lapland, Finland, may be breathtaking to the eye, but it is extremely risky.

The magnetic field of Earth shields its people from dangerous solar particles that penetrate the planet’s upper atmosphere at 45 million miles per hour (72 million kilometers per hour).

When the particles are redirected by Earth’s magnetic field toward the poles, a cinematic atmospheric phenomena occurs that amazes and excites scientists and skywatchers alike (there are also southern lights, which you can read about below).

Perhaps you'll even see the phenomenon itself!
Day 6 : Day Trip to Kemi from Rovaniemi (Includes Ice breaker Ship)
You'll be picked up from your hotel in the morning of your third day in Rovaniemi and driven the 116 kilometers to the seaside town of Kemi. The drive takes about an hour, but the stunning scenery along the way makes it more than worthwhile. This evening, the visitors will be served a hearty Lappish meal.

The magnificent castle of Kemi, situated on Bothnian Bay in Finland during the winter, stands out like a kingdom straight out of a storybook. A group of local architects and designers meets every January to reimagine the gigantic and one-of-a-kind Snow Castle. When the spring sun finally makes its way through the clouds, only then will the melting begin.

There is a hotel, an art gallery, and a chapel in the region where people travel from all over the world to have extravagant wedding ceremonies. The castle walls are over twelve feet high. The huge ice walls of the castle are made even more impressive by the brilliant lights that illuminate every nook and cranny. Many talented artists visit the castle, and as a memento of their stay, they decorate the seaside building with ice sculptures. The Snow Castle's two unique mascots, Arttu and Terttu, bring joy and excitement to the lives of children and adults alike every day.

In Lapland, you may go on a three-hour cruise across the frozen Bothnian Sea. During your three-hour tour, you'll see the ship's immense ice-breaking power, go below deck to see the engines, and then ascend to the captain's bridge for an up-close look at the ship's operations. The tour has an 11-minute film in the icebreaker theater that focuses on icebreakers from across the world and is available in 16 different languages through the audio guide application. During the pause, you may warm yourself in the saloon with some hot juice or go for a stroll on the sea ice. Visitors can swim in the ice-free pool, provided they use a survival floatation device. Day 8 : Day tour of Turku from Helsinki
We'll pick you up at the hotel lobby and take you to the station. Those two hours will seem like minutes while you're moving quickly in a nice environment. Between 10 and 11, our friendly guide will meet you at the station to give you a tour of Turku, one of Finland's most interesting cities.
When it comes to population, Finland's former capital city of Turku is currently ranked sixth, but it still occupies the second-most-important position. You may find several landmarks from different eras and civilizations all in one place.

Turku was founded in the 13th century along the delta of the Aura River. A letter from Pope Gregory IX granting permission to relocate the bishopric to the area now known as Turku marks the beginning of the city's recorded existence. In many ways, this letter marks the first step toward the city's development.

Turku was not only the largest city in Finland, but also one of the largest and most important medieval cities in all of the towns that made up the Swedish Empire during that time period.

The Turku Fortress, which was close to the city, was one of Finland's most important secular strongholds.

Return to Helsinki on 8th Day of your 9 nights 10 days Finland tour package.
Day 9 : Have breakfast After leaving the hotel, you will have a tour of Helsinki and its surrounding region, Porvoo
The morning of your Helsinki sightseeing vacation, get up and have breakfast. After leaving the hotel, your baggage will stay in the car. Starting today, you will begin your nine-night, 10-day journey through Finland.
Take a guided beach tour of scenic Porvoo before exploring Finland's lively capital city, Helsinki. Discover the rich history of Porvoo and Helsinki by seeing its most notable monuments, such as Uspensky Cathedral, Sibelius Park, and the Olympic Stadium.

When you arrive at Helsinki Harbor, your guide will be there to greet you. Proceed to Porvoo, Finland's second-oldest city, in a luxury car. Keep your eyes out for the stunning red mansions as your tour guide takes you down the shore. Visit the Town Square, the Old Church, and a few shops and studios in the area.

It's time to head back to Helsinki from Porvoo. Tour the area around Esplanadi Street and Grand Mannerheim Boulevard via bus. From this vantage point, you can view the Presidential Palace, the National Museum, Parliament, and the Finlandia Concert Hall.
Visit the park honoring Jean Sibelius, a famous Finnish composer. Take a peek at the Sibelius Monument, a sculpture made out of various steel pipes.

After enjoying the park, you may go on to the site of the Olympic Games in 1952. We've finally made it to the Rock Church, a stunning building that was carved right out of the rock and crowned with a copper dome. This is the entrance to Uspensky Cathedral, the biggest Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe.

See the stunning Havis Amanda Fountain and the historic clock tower at Helsinki Central Station. After your tour, take some time to enjoy the waterfront market and some regional specialties.

You'll be dropped off at your hotel after a day of touring in Helsinki and Porvoo.
